Paul Clay – Design of PowerPoint/Keynote and motion graphics for the launch presentation.
The launch event was May 24th, at the Mondrian SoHo in New York City, and included a presentation given by Heidi Klum and Steve Mormoris, Senior Vice President of Coty Beauty. Paul Clay worked directly for Perception AV, and worked closely with Van Wyck & Van Wyck in New York, and Coty in France to deliver the design.

The gala event was thrown May 23, 2011, to celebrate the recently-announced partnership between VW and MoMA a multi-year, multi-project initiative that will support exhibitions at MoMA and MoMA PS1, acquisitions of contemporary art for MoMA’s collection and its famous sculpture garden. Volkswagen was celebrating its new plug-in hybrid prototype the XL1, a two-seat super-eco-car. Volkswagen and MoMA displayed the new hybrid vehicle along with the classic bug. Paul Clay worked directly with Campbell Bromberg and 373 New York who oversaw the entire gala event.
Those in attendance included Madonna, Mary-Kate Olsen, Yoko Ono, James Franco, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Chloe Sevigny, Penn Badgely, Padma Lakshmi, Rose Byrne, Kim Cattrall, Lucy Liu, Marina Abramovic, Daphne Guinness, Terence Koh, Andrej Pejic, Leelee Sobieski, Cindy Sherman, Agnes Gund, Katharina Sieverding, Rachel Chandler, Michelle Harper, David Rockefeller, Jr., MoMA’s Director Glenn Lowry, Volkswagen’s Martin Winterkorn, and Director of MoMA PS1 and MoMA’s Chief Curator at Large Klaus Biesenbach.
James Murphy, and Pat Mahoney, of the former LCD Soundsystem, DJ-ed the event.

This year, on May 5th, Creative Time honored Liz Swig, Creative Time board member, passionate arts patron, philanthropist, and collector. With the theme “After Hours”, Creative Time traveled back to the 1980′s nightlife scene.
Paul Clay worked with Creative Time, and John Maroney of Company Agenda, along with Andrew Stevens
and Kim Swift of We Came In Peace, and the founders of the legendary nightclub AREA, Serge Becker, Eric Goode, and Jennifer Goode, paying homage to the groundbreaking nightclub, complete with music by DJ Johnny Dynell.

Paul Clay is a New York City based award winning multi media artist doing set, lighting, and video/LED design. Projects include Set Design for the Broadway production of the Musical RENT. Recent work includes set, lighting, audio, and video design for the OCA National Convention’s Zang Toi benefit fashion show; video design for the MoMA/VW Gala; lighting and video design for the Creative TIme Spring Gala; video design and direction for the Tommy Hilfiger 25th Anniversary After Party at The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center; set, lighting, and video design for the National Theatre Wales, Volcano Theatre, Welsh National Opera co production “Shelf Life”, Swansea, Wales; De Nederlandse Opera’s “Commedia”, Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Triple Shadow’s “Night Picnic” La MaMa ETC, New York. He has also done set, lighting, and video design with Mabou Mines, Susan Marshall, David Dorfman, NYTW, BAM, and many more in the New York theater and dance community.
